Last year whilst shooting the ‘Discolour’d ~ Floral Games’ series, I shot off a roll of what I thought was expired black & white verichrome pan film, and then realised I had actually shot a roll of Kodacolor-X C-22, which is discontinued film and no longer processed by any lab that I could find. Until today.
I finally managed to find a lab who could hand process this old film, which was introduced in the 1950s and discontinued in 1972, superseded by the C-41 process. The development of the film material was carried out at temperatures of around 75F (24 degrees Celsius), making the process incompatible with the modern process, which uses a temperate of 38 degrees Celsius.
I’m so glad I managed to finally get it developed.
