Pistil Floral Seduction reunites female figures with inflorescent arrangements using a layered aesthetic.
Finding inspiration through nature, there is a focus on the finer details of the plants, revealing the vitality, strangeness and fragility; the sensuality and feminine allure inherent in the flora.
This series exposes a woman's deeply rooted connection to nature and fertility and the ways in which she relates directly and symbolically to the plant world.
When I think of ‘Paradise’, the tranquil & magical lush surroundings of a dark and beautiful tropical rainforest and waterfalls come to mind, where orchids grow high under a green canopy of majestic palms and the forest floor overflows with ferns and flamboyant and vibrant foliage, like the ornamental ginger, dramatic calla lillies, elephant’s ears, hawaiian hibiscus and passion flowers.
I was drawn to exotic and beautiful plants which could have been found in this ‘Paradise’, however these images are not trying to reveal an ideal, but rather a darker and stranger glimpse of the female form and the feminine connection to nature.
